In Autumn of 2012 we received the wonderful news that we had secured £1.2 million of government funding from the Academies Capital Maintenance Fund. And then in July 2013 we were absolutely thrilled to share with you the news that our second application to the Academies Capital Maintenance Fund had been successful and we had been awarded an additional £2.2 million of government funding. The funding will be used to redevelop large parts of our school. The planned work will see the school developed in a traditional style, sympathetic to the original school buildings, whilst at the same time incorporating the best of modern technology.
We will be keeping track of the work as it progresses on this page of our website, so why not keep checking back regularly to see how it’s developing!
October 2014 : All finished and looking fab!
After months of eagerly awaiting the completion of our new build we were thrilled to declare it officially open in October 2014.
On Friday 24th October, with a host of invited guests and many members of staff we opened the new section of our school building. Chair of Governors – Jacky Davies, Facilities Manager – Sue Sparrow and Caretaker – Mary Jones (our longest serving employee) officially cut the ribbon declaring the building officially open. This is the final phase of our £3.3 million refurbishment, which has seen us create a new two-storey purpose-built maths block with 7 new classrooms, one office and also new PE changing facilities.
